Borrowed a shop vac instead of buying a new one, never looking back

My old 5-gallon shop vac finally died after 4 years of drywall dust. I was about to drop $130 on a new one when my neighbor offered me his old 12-gallon model. Difference was night and day, the bigger filter and hose diameter made cleanup take half the time. I also learned his had a reusable cloth bag, so no more buying paper bags every 2 months. Has anyone else salvaged a tool from a friend or relative and found it beats the newer stuff you were eyeing?

Huh, pretty sure those cloth bags are washable, not reusable forever, they still wear out and need replacing.
