Dropped $340 on a 'lifetime' VPN deal from a YouTube sponsor, and the thing stopped working in 5 months
I grabbed one of those lifetime VPN plans a company was pushing hard in a sponsor read, paid $340 for the top tier, and got maybe 5 months of use before the servers went dark. Turns out the whole 'lifetime' thing meant the lifetime of the company, which folded quietly and left a dead app on my phone. Before I ask this community to dig into the whole prepaid VPN business model, has anyone else eaten a loss like this on a sponsor deal and actually gotten money back?
