Dropped $200 on a deep fake detection tool and it caught me slipping

I paid $200 for a software that scans video metadata and facial movement patterns. It flagged a clip I thought was real as a deep fake, and I was mad until I checked the source. Turns out the video was from a known faking site, so the tool saved me from posting garbage. But now I wonder if I'm just trusting a black box too much. Has anyone else paid for detection tools and found they mess up on something obvious?

Nah spending $200 on a tool that just tells you what you could probably spot yourself seems like a waste.

Read somewhere that these tools actually catch things the human eye misses about 30% of the time, especially when you're tired or distracted. Makes you wonder if spending that money is cheaper than missing something big down the line. People say they can spot everything themselves, but how often do we actually double check our own work like that? Not saying everyone needs one, but calling it a total waste misses the point of what these things are actually for.

@stella_scott96 I hear you but I disagree a bit here. Sure a sharp person can catch a lot on their own, but when you're tired or scrolling fast these tools can save you from a REAL embarrassing mistake. I'd rather spend $200 once than look foolish posting something that's clearly fake later.
