Okay, this deepfake of a local mayor from last month is getting scary good

I was checking out a clip from a town hall meeting in Springfield from six months ago, then saw a new 'speech' posted last week. The lip sync is perfect now, no weird blurring around the mouth. The giveaway was the left ear, it didn't move at all when his head turned, just stayed totally still like a sticker. Three months ago, that same ear would have been a melted mess. Has anyone else seen a specific body part that gives away the latest fakes?

I used to believe we could always spot these fakes if we looked hard enough. The ear detail you mentioned really changes things for me. It shows they are fixing the big obvious flaws one by one. Soon it might just be a single hair out of place that gives it away, and who checks for that? We are getting to a point where you cannot trust your own eyes anymore.

Yeah the ear thing is wild. Watched a fake of a news anchor last week and her necklace never moved. It was just stuck flat against her chest even when she leaned forward. Three months ago the whole neck area would look like a bad photoshop. Now it's just one tiny wrong detail in a sea of perfect.
