Discovered my gallery wall was too tall after 2 years of showing

Ive been putting up my digital prints on canvas at local art walks, and last month a gallery owner in Portland pulled me aside. He said my center line sat at 68 inches, but for digital pieces people usually view them closer and lower, around 58 inches. I had measured from the floor the same way I did for traditional paintings back in 2021 and never questioned it. Sure enough, I checked my last three shows and every piece was hung too high. Has anyone else had a basic setup mistake like this that took a stranger to point out, or do you have a rule of thumb for digital art display heights?

Wait until your height works for most people, then ask yourself if your pieces are meant to be seen from a couch or a standing position, because that changes everything more than a number off the floor.
