I tried to make a portrait of my cat using only the smudge tool in Krita
I spent about three hours on it, and the result looked less like my cat Mittens and more like a fuzzy green potato with eyes. The smudge tool just kept pulling the colors into weird blobs no matter how light my touch was. Has anyone else had a tool fight back so hard on a simple project?
Remember when the smudge tool used to just, like, blend stuff? I was trying to fix a sky gradient last week and it just made this weird brown smear, like it was mixing mud. Maybe the updates are too smart for their own good.
Yeah, that "weird brown smear" is exactly it. I tried to fix a sunset photo last month and @the_alice, it looked like someone rubbed dirt on the lens. The tool just guesses wrong now and ruins the colors. Makes me want to go back to an older version.
Ugh, the smudge tool is a total troll. It feels like half the tech in my life does this now, where something that should make things easier just adds a whole new layer of pointless struggle. My smart home stuff is the same way, fighting me on the simplest commands. It's like we're all just beta testing our own appliances.
