Spent $150 on a premium brush pack for Procreate and regret it deeply

I grabbed this fancy brush bundle from an artist I follow on Instagram. All these textured oil and pastel brushes looked amazing in the promo videos. After using them for a week, most of them just smear the same way or act like basic round brushes. I could have spent that money on a few months of Skillshare instead. Anyone else get burned by overhyped brush packs that don't deliver what they show?

Made that mistake twice before I learned my lesson. Always test a single brush from the set first if they offer it, or stick to smaller sample packs. The promo videos are always shot under perfect conditions that real drawing never matches.

My friend Sarah bought a $50 oil brush set last year because the demo video looked AMAZING. First time she used them on actual canvas, the bristles started shedding like crazy and the handles felt CHEAP. Turns out the demo was done with heavily thinned paint on a prepped surface that hid all the flaws. She tried returning them but the company said "no refunds on opened products." Now she swears by buying ONE brush from a brand before committing to anything bigger.

Exactly, the promo videos always make them look way better than they actually are lol
