Old external drive from 2011 finally got sorted out today
Had a 500GB Western Digital from my college days with like 40 versions of the same thesis scattered around, took an afternoon in Denver to just delete the dupes and organize by year. Anyone else find that the older the drive, the harder it is to let go of even the junk folders?

What made you keep the junk folders on that WD drive? I've got a 2008 Seagate where I saved every half-finished resume draft from 4 different job hunts, plus old AIM chat logs I haven't opened in 15 years. Deleting the duplicate thesis drafts makes sense, but did you actually go through the other stuff or just sort it into keep and toss piles? Some of those old folders have weird sentimental weight, like a random mp3 from a mixtape a friend made before he moved away. Did anything on there surprise you when you finally opened it?
