Had a wake-up call about coworking memberships at a cafe in Chiang Mai last week

I was sitting in this cafe near the old city, paying $4 for a coffee just to use their wifi, and my laptop died after an hour because there were no outlets. The waitress gave me a look when I asked for the plug. Spent the whole morning hopping between three different spots. I usually just pay for day passes at coworking spaces but I keep telling myself it's cheaper to cafe hop. Honestly, is saving $10 a day worth the headache of hunting for power and dealing with bad internet? Anyone else just bite the bullet on a monthly coworking membership?

Have you tried Punspace on Tha Phae? It's like $90 a month and you never have to hunt for outlets again. I switched after my third week of playing outlet roulette in cafes and never looked back. @stella22 is right about the laptop bans too, some places literally put up signs now. The cost breaks down to like $3 a day if you actually use it, and you get free water and decent wifi. Just factor in what your time is actually worth versus the $10 you're trying to save.

Read somewhere that Chiang Mai cafes are basically playing a game of "how long can we stretch a $3 iced latte" these days. I swear they're all banning laptops after 2pm now.
