I never thought about how paying for things changes when you move around

Was in Mexico last week and kept getting cash out for small buys. Then in Canada, I used my card for everything and it felt weird. It hit me that my money habits flip depending on where I am. Now I'm curious if other nomads just pick one way to pay or switch it up... kind of a hassle sometimes.
