Just figured out the bank account shuffle for switching countries easier
I kept getting hit with foreign transaction fees and ATM limits every time I landed somewhere new. Last month in Medellin I tried opening a local account but the paperwork took forever and I needed a cedula I didn't have. So I tested this trick where I keep one main account for transfers and a separate prepaid card loaded with just enough for two weeks of spending. I also set up automatic alerts when the balance drops below $200 so I never get stuck without cash. It cut my ATM headaches down to zero and I stopped losing like $30 a month in random fees. Has anyone else found a better way to handle money across three or four countries without going full expat banking?

Tbh I'm still using a sock with a hole in it for my savings, so you're already ahead.
