My buddy in Bangkok told me to always book a place for a month, but my best trip was a 10-day sprint.
He said anything less than a full month was a waste of money and you'd never settle in. I tried it his way in Chiang Mai and got bored after two weeks. Last fall, I did a fast trip through three cities in Croatia, spending about 10 days in each like Split and Dubrovnik. It was way more fun and I saw more stuff without feeling stuck. I think the 'one month minimum' rule is just not for everyone. Anyone else prefer moving faster, or am I just doing it wrong?

It's just travel, not a life sentence.

Right, @pat_murray53, but after that 14 hours you start checking the seat for a parole board button.
