Serious question, I spent 6 months in Chiang Mai trying to work from cafes and it was a total waste of time.
Honestly, I thought the whole point was to be in cool spots with good coffee, but the wifi was always bad and I'd get nothing done. The tipping point was last Tuesday when I spent 4 hours at a place called 'Bean Here Now' and my video call dropped three times. Now I just rent a proper co-working space for $150 a month and actually hit my deadlines. Has anyone else given up on the cafe dream and just settled for a solid desk somewhere?

What exactly were you trying to get done at those cafes? I tried the same thing writing code and it was impossible with spotty internet, but maybe it works for someone just answering emails.

What kind of work were you doing that needed both? Just curious if it's more than basic browsing.
