The overrated coworking hype in Medellin is getting old fast
I spent 3 weeks at a popular coworking spot in El Poblado and half the people were just streaming Netflix on the big monitors. Why do digital nomads act like paying $200 a month for a desk somehow makes them more productive than working from a quiet cafe?

Wait, is that really what it's like there? I used to defend coworking spaces but that honestly sounds like a waste of money.

Oh man, I gotta push back a little on this. I've been using a coworking space downtown for about two years now and honestly it's been totally worth it for me. Like yeah, some days you're just sitting there staring at your own screen but the random chats at the coffee station have landed me three solid freelance gigs. Plus when my internet at home goes down I don't have to panic, I just drive over and plug in. I get the waste argument but for me the structure of getting dressed and going somewhere actually makes me way more productive than working from my couch all day.
