The mediator's one line that completely changed my co-parenting emails
She said 'stop writing novels, start writing receipts' after I sent a 3 page email about a missed soccer practice in Austin. I switched to bullet points and dates only, and my ex actually responded within a day instead of a week. Has anyone else had a professional give them feedback that felt harsh but fixed everything?

Did the mediator maybe mean something more like "state facts only, not feelings"? Because I've seen people cut emotions out of emails and accidentally sound cold, which can backfire too. It worked for me once I added a quick "hope you're doing well" at the end, just enough to stay human. Bullet points are solid though, that part's definitely a keeper.

That "stay human" part is exactly what gets lost when people take advice too literally, @phoenix_martin40. I learned the hard way that stripping out all feeling makes you sound like a robot, and folks stop trusting you. A short polite line at the end, just like you said, keeps the door open without muddying the facts.
