Pro tip: Ditch the mini roller for a 4 inch brush on cabinet frames
I used to spend hours using a tiny foam roller on every cabinet door frame in my kitchen reno thinking it gave a smoother finish. Switched to a decent 4 inch Purdy brush after watching a buddy finish his whole set in one afternoon. The brush lays down paint way faster and I get those tight corners without taping off everything. Anyone else find a tool swap that cut their project time in half?

I bet you're kicking yourself right now, aren't you? I felt the same way after dealing with those stupid little rollers for years. @emma_baker61 is totally right about the big 9 inch rollers with the thick nap - I finally tried one for my bathroom vanity and couldn't believe how much faster it was. No more fighting with drips and having to go back over missed spots either. That swap alone probably saved me like 3 hours on a small built-in bookshelf I did last month.

Wait, you mean I've been torturing myself with those stupid little rollers for nothing?

Oh god, yes. I did the same thing for way too long. Those tiny rollers are just a pain, they take forever and half the time they don't even work right. What you want is a big, wide roller with a thick nap. I just use a 9 inch one from the hardware store with the fluffiest cover they have. You dip it in the paint, roll it on, and you're done in like a quarter of the time. Plus it gives a nice even finish without all those stupid strips you get from little rollers. Seriously, switch to a big one, it's a game changer.
