Spent 4 hours trying to get a single drawer slide level

I was putting in new kitchen drawers and the front one just would not sit right, kept binding every time I pushed it in. Turns out the cabinet box itself was out of square by like an eighth of an inch. Has anyone else had to shim a whole drawer box because the cabinet was off?

Wait, isn't shimming the drawer slide itself usually easier than the whole box? I had a similar fight last month. I ended up putting a thin washer behind the rear mounting bracket on the side that was high. That let me keep the box square and just tweak the slide path. Messing with the whole box seems like it could throw the other slides off.

But does it actually matter that much?

Man, you're making me remember the worst one I ever had. The floor under the cabinet was so bad that the whole box leaned forward. I had to put a stack of those plastic shims under the front of the drawer box, like a little ramp, just so the slide would engage. It was a total hack job but it worked.
