Spent 3 hours trying to fix a wobbly ceiling fan with the wrong size bracket from a kit.

Switching to the exact bracket the fan maker sells for $12 made it rock solid in 20 minutes, so why do they even include those generic ones?

Three hours? I would have lost my mind after the first hour.

Ugh, it's so they can say the kit is "universal". The real part is just a cheap afterthought.

But the cheap part is what actually makes the kit work for everyone.
