Why does nobody talk about the 4 foot mud pan?

For years I thought the 12 inch was the only tool for taping. My crew chief in Phoenix swore by a 4 foot pan for long seams. Tried it on a big commercial job last month, the 150 foot hallway. Filled it once, did the whole seam without stopping. Game changer for speed. But it's heavy when full and a pain to clean. Anyone else use one or think it's just extra gear?

Ever try using a smaller pan for the corners?

Wait, you mean you've been baking the whole sheet at once? That's a huge pan to try and maneuver! I can't even imagine getting it into the oven without spilling.

Honestly it's the same with any tool that does one big job really well. They save you a ton of time on the main task but create a new hassle somewhere else, like cleaning that giant pan. The trick is figuring out when the trade-off is worth it.
