PSA: found a way to pull wire through a tight 3/4 inch conduit run that actually worked

Used a shop vac to suck a pull string through after the fish tape kept getting stuck, saved me like 2 hours on a rewire job in an old Denver house. Anyone else got a trick for stubborn conduit?

Let the stuff dry out first" sounds good in theory, but who has time for that? I just use a damp cloth to grab the bulk of it first, then vacuum. Works every time and no waiting around.

That's just asking for a clogged vacuum.

Actually, it's not that bad if you do it right. You have to use a shop vac, not a regular house vacuum. The key is to let the stuff dry out completely first, like bone dry. Then you just go slow and don't try to suck up a whole pile at once. It works way better than sweeping up that fine, dusty mess.
