Can we talk about those $400 diagnostic kits from the big tool truck
Bought one thinking it would save me time, but the software is so clunky I still end back at the controller with a meter. Anyone else just stick with the basics?

Yeah, the "save me time" part is what gets you. My buddy bought one of those fancy kits for his shop. He spent twenty minutes just trying to get it to talk to a simple ABS module, the screen kept freezing. He finally threw his hands up, grabbed his meter, and had the bad wheel speed sensor wire found in like five minutes. Totally agree with @miasanchez about a good meter being more reliable, you're not fighting some slow, buggy program that needs an update. Sometimes the simple way is just faster.
