Dropped $350 on that smart water bottle and it died after 3 months of daily use

I bought the hype about it tracking my sips and reminding me to hydrate (sounded so helpful back then). The battery just stopped holding a charge even though I charged it every night like the manual said. Has anyone else had these high-tech bottles fail way faster than a regular Nalgene would have? Stick with the simple stuff?.

Tech gadgets die SO fast these days. A regular Nalgene would still be going strong after years, not months. Simple stuff really is the smarter buy for most things.

Yeah @jason_stone59, I used to be all about the latest gadgets but you and smith.elliot totally convinced me.

That $350 bottle is basically paying for a marketing team to convince you that water needs to be smart. It's the same trap as those internet-connected air fryers or smart blinds - they add complexity and a battery to something that worked fine for decades without either. Eventually we'll all circle back to the Nalgene and realize the only smart feature a water bottle needs is not leaking in your bag.
