That $60 meal kit subscription trial cost me $280 before I caught it
Signed up for Green Chef last month because they had a deal on the first box. Forgot to cancel after the trial ended and they charged me full price for three more boxes before I noticed. Each box was around $70 and the portions were way smaller than the ads showed. The recipes took me nearly an hour each night and half the veggies were wilted by day three. Anyone else get trapped by these meal kit trials and have better luck with a different service?

Got burned the same way with HelloFresh last year. My husband calls it my "fancy onion tax" because I paid $80 for three onions and some sad kale. Took me longer to cancel than it did to cook any of those meals. At least the credit card company was nice about the chargeback. Now I just stick to the frozen pizzas I can't mess up.

Oh man, I just saw something about this on the news the other day. Apparently these meal kit companies make it crazy hard to cancel on purpose, like they have secret scripts and everything. Classic onion tax, that's hilarious, I'm gonna steal that line from your husband.

Hold up, is it really that serious though? I mean yeah, it's annoying when you gotta jump through hoops to cancel something, but we're talking about like 15 minutes on the phone or sending an email. People act like they had to climb a mountain and fight a dragon to unsubscribe from a meal kit. I get it, the onion tax story is funny cause it's absurd, but $80 for three onions? Either your husband is exaggerating or you really bought the premium organic gold-plated onions. At the end of the day, it's just food delivery, not like they're holding your firstborn hostage.
