DAE notice the fake outrage about that coffee shop charging $1 extra for oat milk?
Last month a local shop in Portland raised oat milk by a dollar and people LOST it online. Some blogger wrote this whole post about how it's pricing out the poor but the shop has three different regular milk options for cheaper. 3 years ago nobody cared when almond milk had a surcharge. Has anyone else seen this same pattern where people pick random things to be mad about?

Used to roll my eyes at people complaining about oat milk surcharges, but honestly this post made me rethink it. It's wild how we just picked a random target to get mad about when almond milk did the same thing for years.

Remember last year when my buddy tried to order a plain iced coffee and the barista hit him with a "that'll be an extra 50 cents for almond milk". He just stood there staring at the menu like he'd been personally scammed. Now oat milk is the villain and nobody even flinches at the almond milk thing. It's just funny how trends work, you know?

Yeah that "random target" thing really clicked for me too.
