That viral video of a 'shark swimming in a flooded street' - I actually tracked down the original footage

Saw a clip going around Facebook last week claiming a great white was cruising down a residential street after a hurricane. Looked crazy real but something felt off about the water color. I reverse image searched it and found the original was from a 2016 documentary about bull sharks in Australia, just spliced with hurricane audio. The scariest part is how many people in the comments swore they saw it happen in their own town. Has anyone else checked the source on those 'wild weather animal' videos?

Hold on hold on. You're saying people are dumb for believing that shark video but what about the one from Florida last year with the alligator in the swimming pool? Everyone laughed that one off but I found a local news report that literally showed a gator floating in a pool after a storm. Just because one video is fake doesn't mean every "wild weather animal" clip is a hoax. You're cherry picking one example and using it to write off everything.

Wait, does that mean I have to throw out my collection of "Bigfoot caught on Ring camera" screenshots now? Because that's like half my phone storage at this point. I fell for that alligator pool story too, and I live in a state where gators actually show up in weird places sometimes. But yeah, the doc nailed it. People see what they want to see, and I'm probably the worst offender. I still half-believe that one video of a bear riding a jetski even though I know it's clearly CGI. Is there a support group for this kind of gullibility, or do I just need to accept my fate?
