Shoutout to the $80 vintage wool coat I found at a thrift store

I was about to buy a new puffer from a fast fashion site for the same price. This coat is from the 80s, super thick, and feels like it will last forever. It made me realize how much better quality you can get secondhand compared to new cheap stuff. Anyone else have a thrift find that stopped them from a fast fashion purchase?

Read an article about that exact thing last week.

Totally agree! I almost bought a cheap new sweater last month but found a gorgeous hand knit one at a yard sale for five bucks. The stitching is so much tighter and the wool is way heavier than anything you'd get new for under fifty dollars now. It completely changed how I shop for clothes. I look for that solid, older construction first because it just holds up better.

My mom's closet is full of those old wool sweaters, fionafoster, and they're the only ones that last through winter.
