Rant: That $80 pH meter I got for my kombucha was a total waste
It drifted out of calibration after two batches, so now I'm back to using taste and smell like a caveman. Anyone have a brand that actually holds a reading?

Been there. My first one was junk too, always needing that calibration fluid. I switched to an Apera Instruments pen a few years back. It stays steady for months with my sourdough starter and sauerkraut. The little cap has built-in storage solution, which seems to make a big difference. What are you brewing besides kombucha?

I got the same pen and it's been solid.

Ever try using a pH pen for checking pool water? Mine gave such wild readings... ended up just using test strips instead.
