inA homeowner in Tacoma told me my camera inspection was useless because I didn't explain what they were seeing.
I had a customer in Seattle stop me mid-inspection last year to ask if the camera was showing a lava lamp. I was just silently scrolling past a totally normal, gloopy section of pipe. It was a real wake-up call that my expert view and their confused view were two different things. Now I talk through every single foot like I'm giving a tour to a very curious alien. It feels silly at first, but it turns a confusing video into a simple story about their chimney. That extra talking is the difference between them trusting the work and thinking you're just running up the bill.

inThinking back on the old way we used to do expansion joints
Tell me about it, my truck's basically a rolling museum. @jordan_henderson13 finding that 2004 spec is exactly why I can't throw my old groovers out. Guess we're stuck with this stuff until the last inspector retires.

inSwitching from a basic laser level to a self-leveling one with a green laser cut my layout time for a foundation in half.
Honestly felt the same way about the hose until I did a big flooring project. Dragging that thing around corners and untangling it every five minutes drove me nuts. Switched to cordless for a bathroom reno and the time saved was insane, not just in setup but in constant moving. The cost hurt up front but I've used it so much it paid off in pure convenience.

inI was laying a herringbone patio in my backyard and my neighbor, a retired mason, came over and said 'kid, your bed's too dry, it's gonna suck the life out of that mortar before it even sets'.
Test the bed with your knuckle. If it leaves a clear print without water pooling, you're good. That old mason was right, dry beds are a killer.

inDAE feel like the real story on that big tech layoff last month was missed?
Just outsourcing with extra steps, what a shock.
