I was sure those dried flower crowns were a passing fad

A bride in Denver asked for them last fall and I thought it looked cheap. After making one with baby's breath and lavender, I saw how it held up all day in the sun without wilting. Now I keep a few ready for outdoor events. Has anyone else found a use for dried pieces they didn't expect?

Yeah, the durability is the real game changer. I started using dried olive branches in table centerpieces after a summer wedding where everything else looked sad by dinner. They add texture and last through multiple events, which honestly saves a ton of money on fresh greens. It's made me rethink a lot of "disposable" decor.

But @harperp24 dried stuff just looks dead to me.

Totally get what you mean about it looking dead. That was my first thought too. It took seeing a really well done arrangement to change my mind. The texture and shapes can be really cool when you mix them with other things. Now I love how it looks, plus you can't beat not having to replace it all the time.
