My old way of storing ranunculus corms was a total mess in my garage
I switched to keeping them in paper bags inside a mini fridge set to 40 degrees after a grower in Oregon told me about it, and now my germination rate is way better. Anyone have a different cold storage trick for spring bulbs?

Oh man, I feel that... my garage was a disaster zone too.

It's crazy how they always find a way in. I had a metal trash can for my bulbs, but the lid wasn't totally tight. Woke up to a family of mice living in it, they'd chewed up all my gladiolus corms. Now I use those big plastic bins with the locking lids and keep them up on cinder blocks. Seems to work, but I still check every week.

Yeah, the garage is a death trap for those things. My buddy tried storing his dahlia tubers in a cooler full of wood shavings in his basement. Thought it was genius until mice found it. They chewed through everything like it was a buffet. He was so mad. Now he uses metal trash cans with tight lids for everything.

My uncle lost a whole season of potatoes to squirrels in his shed. It's like pests have a sixth sense for our best storage ideas...
