Warning: Rushing mold drying cracked my best pattern.
Slow drying avoids weeks of repair later.

Patience really is key here. Stick a cheap box fan in the room for constant air movement, and run a dehumidifier on low if it's humid. Even slowing it down by a day or two can make the difference between a perfect cast and a cracked one.

Yeah, @patriciarivera is spot on about the air movement. In my experience, pointing the fan across the surface instead of directly at it helps avoid drying too fast in one spot. Also, if you're using a dehumidifier, keep it on the 'continuous' setting but check the water tank daily to avoid overflow. Slowing things down even a little can save you from hairline cracks that show up later.

Oh man, people forget about THERMAL MASS! If your mold is on a cold concrete floor, it sucks heat out and cures unevenly. I put a scrap piece of rigid foam insulation underneath as a buffer and it was a total game changer.

Checking room humidity with a cheap gauge helps avoid guesswork.
