The moment I stopped charging by the hour was the best business choice I ever made, even though my old boss said I'd go broke.

I used to bill $75 an hour and constantly fought with clients over every 15-minute increment, but after landing a $2,500 flat-rate project for a full system overhaul in Austin last spring, I switched to project-based pricing for everything over $500 and now I make more money with way less stress. What's the one pricing model switch that actually worked for you guys?

That fight over every 15-minute increment sounds so familiar (and exhausting). Switching to project pricing was a game-changer for me too, it just feels better for everyone when you're not watching the clock.

My old time sheet had 37 separate entries for a single logo design once... it was a dark time. I'm totally with you, @adams.vera, on project pricing. I finally switched after billing a client for 15 minutes because we spent half a meeting arguing about the invoice itself.

Isn't project pricing just another way to track time, though?
