Serious question, is the 10k subscriber mark really that big of a deal?
I hit 10,000 YouTube subscribers last month after posting a short documentary about a local bakery, and honestly, my client work hasn't changed at all. Everyone says it's a huge milestone for getting brand deals, but I haven't seen a single good offer come through. Has anyone else found that subscriber count doesn't really translate to better freelance jobs?

Your documentary content might be the issue. Brands want places to slot in ads, and a serious film doesn't have natural breaks for product shots. They're probably looking at your watch time and audience age, not just the sub number.

It can be a big deal for the right kind of work. My brand deals really started to pick up after that mark because it showed a solid audience. The type of content you make matters a lot for attracting those offers.

Yeah I used to think hitting 100k was the main goal no matter what. But seeing how it works for different kinds of channels, I mean Anna's totally right. My buddy does gaming streams and got nothing at 100k, but my friend with a cooking channel got a blender deal at like 80k. It really is about what you make.
