Finally got my hands on the new Pixel 8 Pro after waiting a month

My local store in Tacoma got a single unit in stock last Tuesday, and I was the first one there. I spent the whole evening just testing the camera zoom and the temperature sensor, which is a weird but fun gimmick. The battery lasted me a full day of heavy use, which was a huge relief after my old phone. Has anyone else tried the temperature feature on something besides a cup of coffee?

That temperature sensor is actually kind of useful for checking if electronics are overheating. Tried it on my router after it kept dropping signal, and sure enough, one corner was way hotter than it should have been. Probably not what Google had in mind, but it helped me figure out I needed a new one. It's a silly tool that you find real uses for once you have it.

Honestly that's a smart way to use it. How hot was that corner of the router getting, like did you get a number off the sensor? Tbh I'm curious what counts as "way too hot" for that kind of gadget.

Ugh, I mean that sensor is such a waste though. Who's actually checking their router temp more than once? It's just a weird party trick that gets old fast.
