TIL that $80 smart light bulb set is basically a paperweight without their app

I bought the 'GlowHome' starter pack for my living room, but the app needed a constant internet connection and their servers went down for a full weekend. Now I'm stuck with three bulbs that only do a dim white unless I buy their overpriced hub. Has anyone found a smart bulb brand that actually works offline?

That exact thing happened to me last year and it's so frustrating. Zigbee bulbs are the way to go, but you need a separate hub like a Conbee stick or something from Hubitat. Once it's set up, everything runs locally on your home network. What kind of setup were you hoping to have?

Yeah, I saw a thread about this last week. Some people were saying to look for bulbs that work with Zigbee or Z-Wave, since those don't need the company's cloud to run.
