Switched from a standard 5mm graphite paddle to a 3mm one for shaping small goblet feet

I was working on a set of six wine goblets and the thicker paddle kept leaving flat spots and cooling the piece too fast. The thinner 3mm paddle from Arrow Springs let me get a much sharper, cleaner curve without fighting the heat so much. Has anyone else found a specific tool change that fixed a small but annoying problem like that?

Oh man, that flat spot thing is so real. I had the same fight with a thicker shaping tool on small perfume bottle necks. Switching to a thinner option just lets you work the glass, not fight the tool.

Is it really that big of a deal, @ray173?

Yeah, that "work the glass, not fight the tool" bit is perfect, I had the exact same lightbulb moment with my last project lol.
