My old boss in Spokane finally told me why my glass cuts were always chipping

I was scoring with too much pressure for years, trying to make a deep line in one pass. He showed me how a light, steady score with a Fletcher 3000 cutter, followed by a firm tap underneath, gives a clean break every time. I tried it on a 36 inch piece of 1/4 inch tempered last week and it was perfect. Anyone have a different trick for keeping the edge smooth on thicker glass?

My neighbor in Phoenix said my patio pavers looked like they were laid by a toddler

Honestly, I was pretty proud of my work until he pointed out the gaps were all over the place, some over half an inch wide. He showed me his trick with a piece of rebar and a string line to keep everything straight and spaced right. Has anyone else got a good method for keeping those joints even on a bigger area?

My sister's take on the whole 'celebrity feud' thing really got me thinking

Tbh, I was over at my sister's place last weekend and we were talking about that big story where two A-list actresses supposedly hate each other. I was totally buying the narrative, you know? All the blogs were saying it was over a role from 2018. But my sister, who works in event planning and sees how people act backstage, just shrugged and said, 'It's probably just two busy people who don't hang out, not a war.' She pointed out that neither of them has ever actually said the other's name in an interview, and all the 'proof' is just them not smiling in one paparazzi photo from three years ago. Ngl, it made me realize how much we fill in the blanks ourselves. We see two famous women not being best friends and instantly craft this whole dramatic story. Has anyone else had a moment where they stepped back and realized a feud was probably 90% made up by fans and blogs?

Question about using a fish tape for a tricky drop in an old house

I was working on a job in a 1920s bungalow in Portland last month, trying to get a line down from the attic to a first floor outlet. The wall was full of old plaster and blocking I didn't expect. My helper said, 'Just push harder, it'll go.' I tried that for ten minutes and got nowhere.
