TIL a trick for getting cleaner punties from a guy at the Philly studio

He said to heat the gather for an extra 10 seconds before touching it off, which really cut down on my stringy bits. Anyone have a different method they swear by?

My buddy tried that and it worked great for him too. He also swears by keeping his punty rod a bit hotter than he used to. Made a big difference.

I run my punty about 50 degrees hotter than my blowpipe now. It really helps with the transfer and keeps things from cracking. Honestly, that extra heat makes the whole process way smoother.
