Why does nobody mention the panic when a trim turns into a chop?

My last cut ended way shorter than planned... any tips to avoid this?

Actually, a good stylist should LISTEN to what you want. Just show them a picture and be super clear about the length.

Showing a clear picture really helps, as @the_robin said, because it gives the stylist something solid to work from.

Yeah, the "super clear about the length" part is key. I read a stylist's blog once where they said inches mean different things to different people. Pointing to an exact spot on your neck or shoulder gives them a real target.
