Watch out for the trail closure at that waterfall in Hawaii

I hiked to a secret waterfall on Maui last week. Part of the path is now blocked off for safety. Saw a few people trying to climb around it. That's really risky with the loose rocks. Check online for updates before you head out.

In Washington, I saw a hiker climb a fenced-off cliff last month, crazy stuff.

Why would anyone risk it with a fence right there?

Ugh, fences are there for a reason... I've seen people push past them to get a photo and it never ends well. That barrier is usually the only thing between you and a really bad fall on loose ground. If the park bothered to put it up, they know something we don't... like the whole thing could give way. Just not worth your life for a slightly better view.
