Update: That random stop at a clay studio during my road trip...
I always thought pottery was just about making mugs... But watching an artist work with raw earth on a wheel showed me it's about connecting with the ground beneath us. Now every cup I use feels different.

Got me looking at my own shaky attempt at a "mug" from a class last year... looks more like a sad little bowl that hates its job. Harperp24 has a point though, my brain does tend to overcomplicate the nice, simple thing until it's just another chore. Now I'm side-eyeing my whole cabinet, wondering if my favorite chipped cup is judging me for not feeling the earth's vibes enough...

Wait, so now every cup is a deep earth connection? I guess my plastic tumbler is just a sad piece of oil history. But for real, it's funny how we can get so wrapped up in daily stuff that we miss the simple things. Seeing someone shape clay might seem basic, but it makes you think about where stuff comes from. Now I'm gonna feel weird using my cheap Ikea mugs, thanks for that. Still, it's cool that a random stop can change how you see normal things.

Seriously, that is SO true! We get wrapped up in daily chaos and forget the ORIGIN of things. But does that weird feeling about cheap mugs actually lead to lasting change, or do we just go back to normal?
