Robotic calibration issues almost cost me a big job
I think robotic tools are sold before they're ready for real shops. Last month, a new arm kept dropping parts because its grip was too weak. I fixed it by adjusting the pressure settings myself, because the tech support was no help. It saved the job but made me lose faith in the hype. Do you trust these systems yet?

Saying setup is the main job hides the real flaws. Good tools should work right from the start.

Your fix proves the system was ready, it just wasn't set up right. Calibration isn't a flaw, it's the whole job. Those pressure settings are supposed to be adjusted for each task. Tech support should have told you that first thing. The hype is for the potential, but you still need a person who knows how to tune it. I trust the systems when they're run by someone who gets that.

Totally agree with @martinez.olivia. I stumbled into the same fix after finally checking the manual, it should be step one.

That point about tuning the system being the main task really clicked with me. In my case, after I changed the pressure settings to match what I was doing, the fix was easy. It goes to show that knowing how to set it up right makes all the difference.
