Unpopular opinion: I miss the hands-on feel, but digital layout tools saved my last project

I used to spend hours with a tape measure and string, setting out foundations. It felt solid, but mistakes were common. On my last job, we kept having alignment issues that set us back. I decided to try a laser layout system after seeing it online. At first, it was tricky to set up, but once I got the hang of it, the precision was amazing. Now I can't imagine going back to the old ways, even if I do miss the simplicity.
