Wait, did your cousin get their money back, @ross.christopher?

Question about those cheap graphite reamers from the online marketplace

Actually, HSS bits can still snap if you push too hard, right @singh.elizabeth?

My grandad's butcher block is still in use after fifty years, but my new guy prefers plastic boards.

Have you ever looked into why wood might be safer than plastic for cutting boards? I read that wood pulls bacteria into its pores and then the drying process kills them off. Plastic boards can get scratched up, and those grooves let bacteria live through washes. Like @ray173's spoon splitting, wood needs some care, but if you oil it regularly, it lasts for ages. Wood also gives you better control and doesn't dull knives as fast. So I'm totally on the wood side, it just makes sense in the long run.

Hot take: Our thriller binge night turned into a screaming match with my friends

Oh totally, that split reaction is the best part. It’s weird how the most memorable stuff often comes from messy disagreement, not everyone liking the same thing. I see it all the time outside of TV, like when my family argues about the best way to load the dishwasher at holidays. The loud, messy debates are what we actually remember later, not the quiet agreements.

Just realized how much boiler plate cutting has shifted from torches to plasma

Man, that totally hits home. My buddy used to hand-scribe sheet metal for custom bikes, his lines were so fluid from years of doing it. Then he got a CNC router and now he just uploads a file, watches it carve out parts with zero wobble. He says he misses the feel of the tool in his hands, but admits the new stuff is just more exact. Kinda bittersweet, you know? Like we gained precision but lost some of that art.
