Totally get where your buddy is coming from with that spray trick. It makes me wonder if @the_beth has tried any of those home fixes, like rubbing a tiny bit of soap on the lens before you start. The fog is the worst because it just ruins the shot completely (and you don't always notice until you're done filming). That spray sounds way more reliable than the old potato method I heard about once. Honestly, keeping a lens cloth in your pocket is good, but it doesn't stop the fog from happening in the first place.

How long have you been using that same sleeping bag? I kept mine stuffed for a whole season once and it never bounced back fully. The down or synthetic fill gets crushed and loses its ability to trap air. Stuffing it loose in a big bin or hanging it up is way better for long term. Cotton bags help but only if they're roomy enough to let the bag expand. If your bag still puffs up, you might have gotten lucky or it's newer tech.
