Texture in my digital art felt flat, so I dug into the brush argument

Right like that spacing slider is the secret boss of digital art lol. Spent months collecting fancy brushes when the whole time it was just one dumb setting. Feels kinda embarrassing but also weirdly freeing. Now my brush folder looks like a graveyard of bad choices. The real magic was learning to tweak what you already have.

Chalk lines really do save you from yourself. I remember once we were putting up a fence and just eyeballed the posts from one end. By the time we got to the other side, the whole thing was leaning bad. Had to pull out three posts and start over with a string line. Now I never trust my eyes for anything longer than a few feet. It's like your brain plays tricks on you when you're tired or rushing...

Copying Daredevil's radar sense from comics led me straight into a shopping mall fountain.

Totally get what you mean, Blair. I learned the same thing trying to pick up guitar a while back. You can sit there strumming the same chords mindlessly for an hour and get nowhere, or spend twenty minutes really working on that one tough change. Night and day difference. Guess some folks, like @jason_davis here, just haven't had that click moment yet. It changes how you learn everything.

Read something about using embossed labels for this exact reason. Helps if you're colorblind, right? Adds that tactile feel so you can tell by touch too.
