Seeing too many close calls from over-relying on crane displays
I hear a lot of operators say the new systems mean we can skip manual checks. On my last site, the display had a error and showed a safe load when it wasn't. I only knew because I still run the numbers myself first. Some crew call me old school for this. But I think trusting only tech is a bad move. We almost dropped a load once when a green hand followed the screen without looking up. Let's keep using our eyes and brains along with the machines.
