Seeing too many close calls from over-relying on crane displays
I hear a lot of operators say the new systems mean we can skip manual checks. On my last site, the display had a error and showed a safe load when it wasn't. I only knew because I still run the numbers myself first. Some crew call me old school for this. But I think trusting only tech is a bad move. We almost dropped a load once when a green hand followed the screen without looking up. Let's keep using our eyes and brains along with the machines.

Screens can glitch. Always double check with your own eyes. Better safe than sorry.

My GPS once told me to turn into a lake. I almost did it because the screen looked so sure of itself. Now I peek out the window before following any directions. Screens have a way of making mistakes look very official. It's like they're trying to trick us into silly situations. So yeah, trusting your eyes is basically survival mode these days!

Ever follow your GPS without really looking? A buddy of mine drove for ten minutes down a dirt road that his map swore was a highway before he finally trusted his gut and turned around. Solid point from @stella121, that gut feeling is usually your own eyes trying to tell you the screen is full of it.
