Did you ever try sending them a real screenshot instead of a mockup to see if their critiques still apply?

Oh man, that's a great point! I actually had a similar thing happen with a forum about sign painting. Someone tore apart my letter spacing and I was all defensive at first. But then I printed out their actual feedback and put it right next to my printed proof and it was like a lightbulb went off. Sometimes the harsh stuff cuts through the fluff and makes you see your own blind spots, y'know?
