Read somewhere that AI bros are already trying to pass off generated images as their own work.

Only if we're going to pretend digital photography isn't already doing the same thing with filters and presets (nobody calls themselves a "photographer" for pressing an auto-enhance button anymore). If the tool does the heavy lifting, who cares as long as the final result looks good?
